District of Ursynów is situated almost entirely on the Warsaw Plain, 20-30 meters above the level of Vistula River. It stretches over the southern part of the capital and takes 8,6% of its total area (44.6 sq km). The population of Ursynów in 2009 was estimated at 145.000 and is constantly growing. Residential areas are constantly growing. At the same time, only small number of inhabitants decide to move out of the district. If they change addresses they usually do it within the district.

There are three natural reserves in Ursynow and its vicinity. The reserve of the Kabacki Forest is a remaining of huge Mazowiecka Wilderness. There is also the reserve of the Natoliński Forest and a newly created reserve of Ursynowska Escarpment. The location of the district at Warsaw border and the number of existing natural and landscape sites make this area an important role in natural ecosystems by enriching the natural ecological side of the capital. Moreover, the district is almost free from industrial plants, buildings or equipment that, while operating, could be harmful to the natural environment.

Three collective public communication means serve the district: an underground line, bus lines and a railway line. They ensure both internal and external transport connections. The Eastern part of Ursynów District is served by an underground line and several bus lines to the convenience of the inhabitants. There are 5 underground stations within the district: Kabaty, Natolin, Imielin, Stoklosy and Ursynów, from which it is possible to reach Downtown within 10-20 minutes.

Ursynów District is proud of its monumental horse racing tracks complex, dated 1939, where each year ca. 700 races are held. Moreover, the district hosts a cinema complex - "Multikino" with its 12 screens and several restaurants. The inhabitants of Ursynów may derive profit from several libraries and swimming pools. In our district, there are: 27 kindergartens, 28 primary schools, 13 grammar-schools and 14 secondary schools.
